Ruhmsuchen 2009

An installation with a video projecting model helicopter.

The title 'ruhmsuchen' has a phonetic double meaning, the right meaning is 'fame seeking' and the similar sounding “rumsuchen” which means 'to search around'.
The installation uses a model helicopter with a build in video projector as a metaphor for an individual projecting his thought.
The projection consists of fragments from Hollywood films and recruitment videos. It projects the symbolic common ideals of his social surrounding; which consists of glorifying his alpha-models. It creates a nervous tension between seek/search and avoid/miss.
