The project is an installation interacting with light and layers of drawings on transparent foils. This structure explores the human sub consciousness and the ways perception of "the self" becomes possible. The installation consists of four »boxes«, each of them containing layers of transparent foils (being printed and drawn on). Those foils create 3 groups, symbolizing a psychoanalytical concept of understanding the human sub consciousness. These are id, ego and super-ego.
The transparent foils with drawings in the box are ordered one above the other with equal distance space between them. In one part of the project, these boxes are situated on an overhead-projector. Even though all the layers are visible on the projection, the sharpness is set up so that only the middle layer of the „box“, the one symbolizing the »ego«, is in focus. The installation shows how close and connected are different fields of human psyche, even though they are divided in theory. Light present the energy enabling these complicated structures to merge, in the same way as in the sub consciousness of the »self« – where »id« is hidden, »ego« tries to be outgoing and »the super ego« flies unfocused above the whole structure.
The other part of the project consists of two bigger self standing metal »boxes«. The transparent layers with drawings are "hidden“ inside of them. The light projects an image to a small size paper surface above it.
