Autarkic wall 2008

»Autarkic wall« is a project proposal for the Biotechnology Institute in Vienna.
We proposed to build a »wall« out of autarkic systems with plants, attached to the existing glass wall of the Institute. It creates a border between the earth process of development in nature and the changes that are being made by scientist in the institute. The wall is built of sealed glass boxes, each containing an own autarkic bio system. The hundreds of small bio systems are each developing in its own way. They preserve a little piece of nature from the time they were sealed. The nature in each of them develops in its own way, independent from both the earth influences and the biochemistry developments.
